Shortly after the announcement of the discovery of
superconductivity in the MBi-GIC's, an effort was undertaken
at MIT to reproduce the results reported by the University of
Nancy group. As described in Section 
,
the samples used in the MIT experiments were prepared using
conditions close to those used in Nancy. The x-ray
diffraction patterns, TEM micrographs, and sample colors were
found to be similar to those previously reported [see Chapter
].
